Swiss railway company Schweizerische Südostbahn AG (SOB) and DICOTA are pursuing a common goal: to increase occupational safety in the railway sector while using sustainable materials. With DICOTA's backpacks specially designed for outdoor use, the employees' equipment has been brought up to the latest standards.

Focusing on the partnership and the integral role of our high-visibility solutions, we spoke with Emmanuel Jaggi, our International Project Sales Manager and specialist for the HIVIS line.

How did the partnership with SOB come about?

‘The partnership began when SOB was looking for a robust and safety-oriented backpack solution for its employees working on the tracks and with customers. After intensive testing and evaluation by SOB, we identified the HIVIS model as the perfect solution because it focuses on visibility, comfort and sustainability. The collaboration is a perfect fit with the values shared by DICOTA and SOB, and we are delighted to be part of a project that focuses equally on safety and environmental protection.

What makes DICOTA's HIVIS backpacks stand out?

‘Our HIVIS backpacks combine several important features. The materials are certified to the latest EN ISO 20471:2013 safety standards and are made from durable, recycled PET material. The robust models are designed to offer high visibility and ergonomic comfort while supporting optimised workflows. This combination of safety, sustainability and functional design is what makes our backpacks so valuable for everyday work.’

‘The robust models are designed to offer high visibility and ergonomic comfort while also supporting workflow optimisation.’

In which areas of SOB are DICOTA backpacks used?

‘Our backpacks are specifically designed for various areas of application at SOB. The Reflective 25L backpack, in classic black with reflective stripes, is ideal for customer service representatives and train drivers and offers additional visibility thanks to its reflective elements. The bright orange HIVIS 32-38 litre backpack is mainly used by track workers and some train drivers. It offers maximum visibility and, at the same time, the comfort and storage space required for demanding everyday work.’

Our partnership with SOB is a proof of effective collaboration in enhancing workplace safety sustainably. If you're looking to explore similar high-performance safety solutions, we invite you to connect with Emmanuel Jaggi [Emmanuel.Jaggi@dct.group], our International Project Sales Manager and our HIVIS specialist, who will gladly assist you.
